Art Yard Bar & Kitchen is opening inside the new Bankside Hotel this October, and as it’s a design-led hotel you can expect the restaurant to look pretty swish too. The open-plan, wrap-around dining room will feature mobiles, modern artwork and patterned tiling throughout, with separate seating at the bar.

Art Yard will be serving up food all day long, with Head Chef Lee Streeton (formely of 45 Jermyn Street and Brown’s Hotel) in charge of the kitchen. You can expect dishes like buckwheat tabbouleh with tahini yoghurt and poached egg and waffles with autumn fruit compote for brekkie, with the likes of chargrilled cuttlefish with black rice and chorizo, baked bone marrow with curry sauce, and cataplana of monkfish, shellfish and potato on the day menu.

On the bar front, there’ll be everything from cocktails, including a Nitro Cold Brew Martini and Seedlip Draught Cocktail on tap, a concise wine list and a changing range of local beers. Sounds like this will be one to hit up even if you’re not staying the night.
