Very few win nature’s lip lottery, but that doesn’t mean we have to accept a below-par pout.
Kristen Noel Crawley agrees. That’s why she created KNC Collagen Infused Lip Masks, £27.50 – 15-minute jelly hydrators that satiate our desire for plumped up, velvety soft, crease-free smackers, offer an all-natural boost without the chemicals, and (most importantly) make a magnificent selfie.
It’s no wonder her brand, KNC quickly earned cult status, gaining traction with influencers, supermodels and celebs *ahem, Emma Stone pre Golden Globes*. Then, Kristen went ahead and did a metaphorical mic drop with her shooting star mask for eyes, with retinol *swoon*.
Burgeoning brand aside, Kristen has already earned her stripes as an insta-famous influencer (@kristennoelcrawley). Followers will find her sporting (and snapping) cutting-edge fashion trends, jetting off to the latest hotspots, being the coolest mum on the planet, or casually hanging out backstage, which is where we met – at the Dior SS19 show *of course*.
We chat to the KNC founder, beautypreneur and Instagirl crush on signature scents, favourite products and the best beauty hacks. Is Kristen’s key to looking flawless KNC masking…or does she have another secret? GLAMOUR finds out.
Away from the glitz of fashion shows, what’s your daily beauty regime?
I use Dior BB Cream, £46, on an everyday basis along with Dior One Essential City Defence, £42, to protect my skin from pollution. Skincare-wise, I love Dr. Barbara Sturm products, particularly the Foaming Cleanser, £40, and SPF50 Sun Drops, £105. My favourite hair products are Sisley Precious Haircare oil, £75, and the Ouai Wave Spray, £22 – SO good.
What’s your best beauty hack?
Running an eyelash curler under warm water will heat up the metal and give you an insane curl that lasts all night!
Your brand is mask-centric. How often and with what do you mask?
I use my KNC lip masks every day to keep my lips soft and supple. For other masks, about 3-4 times a week with everything from clay, to brightening to hydrating masks – I use them all. Dior Hydralife Mask, £46, is one of my faves.
How does being a beautypreneur effect your beauty choices?
It’s opened me up to try new things. People send me stuff to try all the time and I love it. It’s a bit like a science experiment – trying out this product and that to produce the best result for your skin.
What’s your biggest beauty regret?
Definitely doing a Japanese straightening treatment around 7 years ago. It destroyed my fine hair and I feel like my curls haven’t been the same since.
Who gives you major beauty inspo or envy?
I love checking out up-and-coming makeup artists on Instagram. I found this one girl @teishajenaie who does amazing work with liners and have since recreated a few of her looks.
Do you have a signature fragrance?
The great thing about perfume is the memory it leaves. I want people to smell something beautiful and think of me. Right now I’m obsessed with three Maison Christian Dior perfumes called Sakura, Lucky, and Thé Cachemire (£200 each). I have big bottles of each and I alternate every day. I get tonnes of compliments when I wear them.
What is the best beauty advice you’ve been given?
Love yourself from within and it’ll shine through. Also, drink lots of water.
What makes you feel great?
I like to treat myself to juices from Kreation and Korean spa treatments. I love a good body scrub and facial. When I’m strapped for time, I’ll do my own facial at home. I find a long hot bath is a great stress-reliever as well.
