Keri Hilson is finally ready for her return to the charts.
The singer/songwriter has been absent from the music scene since wrapping promotion for sophomore album ‘No Boys Allowed’ in 2011.
In the years since, she drip-fed explanations for her hiatus – which have varied from the need for a break, to personal hardships, and more recently the allusion to professional dramas happening behind the scenes.
Well, now it looks as though those challenges have been surmounted. Because Miss Keri says she’s officially ready – and she’s even provided a timeframe for her comeback.
Hilson’s plans were unpacked in a reflective tweet celebrating the 10th anniversary of her debut effort ‘In A Perfect World.’ She said:
Today marks 10 years since the release of my first studio album, “In A Perfect World…” I didn’t mean to be gone so long, I only needed my real world to be perfect…it is now. Thank you for your patience. The wait is over. I’m ready. Summer 2019.
The music industry has changed in earnest since Keri’s latest musical outing, hence there’ll be unavoidable hurdles she’ll have to clear to re-integrate herself today’s market.
That said, we’re intrigued to hear what she’s been baking in the lab and how she plans to serve it up.
