Like millions, we’re all sorts of obsessed with HBO‘s ‘Insecure.’ So much so that we’ve been waiting with feverish anticipation for news on its fourth season.
Well, it’s come and isn’t quite the tea we’d hoped for.
Because, while it’s confirmed that the Issa Rae drama will be back, it’s now been revealed that it won’t hit screens again until 2020.

Confirmation of the show’s hiatus came courtesy of HBO programming chief Casey Bloys.
Speaking in an interview with Vulture, he cited the increasingly packed plate of its lead Rae as the need for a break:
“Well, Issa became a big movie star! We’re not the first place to deal with this, but when you’re in business with very creative and talented people, there’s a lot more opportunities for people to do things. Issa, I think, partly wanted a break to come back to it fresh.”
Much as we were amped to jump back into the immersive world of Issa and Molly (Yvonne Orji) this summer, we also are big on quality. So, we’d much rather a break than to see ‘Insecure’s powering force spreading too thin and the show being adversely affected.
As it stands, Rae (whose new movie ‘Little’ just hit screens worldwide), is developing two new shows for HBO and is gearing up to star in the film ‘The Photograph’ alongside LaKeith Stanfield. Hence, it’s genuinely busy times.
One thing’s for sure: we’ll be tuning in whenever ‘Insecure’ returns. Will you?
